I have gain such a huge testimony about talking to everyone! This exchange really helped me realize that there are so many people willing to receive our message. From the exchange that I had with Hermana Hernandez, we talked to about 13 people and gain 3 new investigators!! On Saturdy alone!! It was amazing!
Hermana Hernandez contacted these couple that turned out to be the most interested people that I have ever contacted in my life!! We got talking to them about Prophets and it turns out that the wife had been watching a TV series named "Los Diez Mandamentos" (The ten commandments). It is a spanish series about Moses and the different things that were happening in Egypt at the time. Basically she had developed an interest in Prophets from watching that show so when we told her that we teach about prophet and what they actually do, she got so excited. We have a return appointment with her and her husband this coming Saturday...which is perfect because it is general conference weekend! The show is totally over embellished but still...very grateful for that show because it has given us so many opportunities to get people actually interested in the message of the Restoration. Who would have thought!
There was another man who was just walking out of his garage just as we biked by. He waved to us so we took that as an invitation to come and talk to him. Turns out that he had had sister missionaries coming over before but never had time to have a real lesson with them because he was always busy, but he has a book of mormon and he has been reading in it and is very interested to learn more! SAY WHAT?! That one made us so excited! We set up a return appointment with him for this past Sunday but sadly he had work so he had to cancel but he still wants us to come and teach him. I feel a baptism if we can only meet with him.
Speaking of baptisms...I had the opportunity to attend the baptism of Jackie, the daughter of Juana and Isidrio. I taught her and her family when I was in East Sac with Hermana Leon. It was such a sweet baptism. She was beaming and I asked her on a scale of one to ten how excited she was to be baptized....she held up ten fingers with a huge grin on her face. She is precious to me. She also is really shy. She was asked to give her testimony but when she was standing up there, she wouldn't say anything so Hermana Leon had to stand up with her...but she still wouldn't say anything. Hermana Leon told Jackie to whisper in her ear what she wants to say and Hermana Leon would say it for her. Jackie finally opened up and she gave a sweet testimony through Hermana Leon. haha! She is so cute!
The sad news is that we had to release some of our investigators. That was a really hard one for us because we had grown to love them so much and could see their potential...but you can't force someone who doesn't want it. It is okay. They just need time for now but we are glad that we were able to have an uplifting experience with them.
Roberto is still doing good. He has been at his mom's so we haven't had the opportunity to teach him this week...which kind of makes me anxious quite honestly but we just keep praying for him and preparing him the best way we can for his baptism on the 15th of April.
