I have gain such a huge testimony about talking to everyone! This exchange really helped me realize that there are so many people willing to receive our message. From the exchange that I had with Hermana Hernandez, we talked to about 13 people and gain 3 new investigators!! On Saturdy alone!! It was amazing!
Hermana Hernandez contacted these couple that turned out to be the most interested people that I have ever contacted in my life!! We got talking to them about Prophets and it turns out that the wife had been watching a TV series named "Los Diez Mandamentos" (The ten commandments). It is a spanish series about Moses and the different things that were happening in Egypt at the time. Basically she had developed an interest in Prophets from watching that show so when we told her that we teach about prophet and what they actually do, she got so excited. We have a return appointment with her and her husband this coming Saturday...which is perfect because it is general conference weekend! The show is totally over embellished but still...very grateful for that show because it has given us so many opportunities to get people actually interested in the message of the Restoration. Who would have thought!
There was another man who was just walking out of his garage just as we biked by. He waved to us so we took that as an invitation to come and talk to him. Turns out that he had had sister missionaries coming over before but never had time to have a real lesson with them because he was always busy, but he has a book of mormon and he has been reading in it and is very interested to learn more! SAY WHAT?! That one made us so excited! We set up a return appointment with him for this past Sunday but sadly he had work so he had to cancel but he still wants us to come and teach him. I feel a baptism if we can only meet with him.
Speaking of baptisms...I had the opportunity to attend the baptism of Jackie, the daughter of Juana and Isidrio. I taught her and her family when I was in East Sac with Hermana Leon. It was such a sweet baptism. She was beaming and I asked her on a scale of one to ten how excited she was to be baptized....she held up ten fingers with a huge grin on her face. She is precious to me. She also is really shy. She was asked to give her testimony but when she was standing up there, she wouldn't say anything so Hermana Leon had to stand up with her...but she still wouldn't say anything. Hermana Leon told Jackie to whisper in her ear what she wants to say and Hermana Leon would say it for her. Jackie finally opened up and she gave a sweet testimony through Hermana Leon. haha! She is so cute!
The sad news is that we had to release some of our investigators. That was a really hard one for us because we had grown to love them so much and could see their potential...but you can't force someone who doesn't want it. It is okay. They just need time for now but we are glad that we were able to have an uplifting experience with them.
Roberto is still doing good. He has been at his mom's so we haven't had the opportunity to teach him this week...which kind of makes me anxious quite honestly but we just keep praying for him and preparing him the best way we can for his baptism on the 15th of April.
Well...I think that is all!
love you all,

Oh...trust me...I feel it... 😑
Hola familia y amigos!
So we have had a crazy cray week! I'll start first with the some crazy stories first.
So we were healed by the greater light....haha! We went on a Split in the Elk Grove sisters zone (basically we go and work for an hour or two in another missionaries area..) and we had the opportunity to meet an "Angel healer"...and had our shakras healed...by staring a drawing of an angel...and she kept asking if we felt it...."oh yes, I am sensing crazy!" It was a very very strange contact. Let's just say that she was not interested. Haha!
We also had four investigators at church this past Sunday! They are all great! I am so happy to teach each one of them. The only problem is that most of them like to talk...a lot! And most of it is very relavent but it just takes ove the whole lesson . The great thing about them is that they all have real intent! We are so lucky to have them.
We put Roberto our investigator on date for April 15th! That is a miracle honestly because we have had so much trouble finding him lately but he still wants to learn and is still very excited for his baptism. His family is behind him on this as well.
We have had so many blessings this week...one of them being able to send off two amazing referrals. One of them of them spoke little English and understood even less but he told us how much he wants god's help in his life. He has a lot of word of wisdom issues and he was so desperately wanting to change. He told us that he recognizes how far the lord had brought him and he just wants to be liberated from his addictions. He just looked so down...it broke my heart. I felt prompted to bear my testimony but I my logical side was thinking "how will he understand...he doesn't understand English?". But when the spirit tells you to do something...you do it. So I did. And he began to cry. He felt the spirit so strong and there was a light of hope that entered his eyes. It was beautiful to see...and I was so grateful for the tender mercy of having the spirit with me to bear witness to the words that my companion and I spoke. We were able to get his information and ship him off to the missionaries that will be over him.
It was a testimony to us that god really does place his children in our path. He is very merciful.
Basically, we have had a fantastic week! Full of blessings!
I will write more next week!

A roller coaster week!
Dear family and friends,
This week has been a mix of good things and hard things but I guess that is the way we grow.
Good: - We had three investigators at church Sunday. All of them who are really solid! WE are so excited to teach them. - We have found some incredible people who really are looking to better their lives - We were able to go to the temple this P-day. It was beautiful! - I got to stay in this area and with my companion - Some of our investigators moved from being others to progressing -There was some amazing lessons as well. Oh man! I wish I had time to tell you about the lesson we had this past Sunday! It was amazing! We were able to help some investigators come to the knowledge of what really happened before we came to this earth! They loved and now are even more excited to meet with us.
The work is moving forward and the lord is really guiding our foot steps. Man it feel so good to have him by our side every step of the way.
Hard: - We had to release a few people who we had high hopes for. Especailly this one family that we had a tons of high hopes for! They were so great and we know that one day they will get baptized but it made it so hard because they dropped us by telling us that they loved that we came over and talked about Christ but the honest truth is that they are not thinking of changing religions and neither do they ever want to change religions. That was a hard pill to swallow but it will be alright. Everyone has been given their free agency for a reason. We are just going to keep praying for them. - No matter what we do with Maria...she won't budge...she just doesn't want to get baptized so she is going to have to progress on her own time.
I guess life in itself is a rollercoaster but honestly...I am enjoying every moment! I am so grateful to be out on a mission.
Love you all! Hermana Paredes
P.S. I am 14 months now! 14!!! WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE??!!

It was the week before transfers....and we had miracles!!!
Family and Friends,
This will be a very short email but i have to tell you about how merciful our Heavenly Father is!
First off, had four investigators at church this past Sunday...I have never had that many investigators come...ever!! Two of them just came by themselves! One was a former and the other was this guy that we just contacted this week! He just showed up in the middle of testimony meeting and then stayed for the other three hours!! He loved it! He asked to take the gospel principles book home to read on his own time! I was just beaming from ear to ear!! It was great!! So grateful!
We also were able to help set up a Quincenera (pretty sure I spell that wrong) for our investigator's daughter. The mother was super grateful and the father said that he thinks that he can come to church the next week. We are super excited for that!
Next week is transfers so I will be writing on Tuesday. There is also another Hermana coming this transfer so there is a possibility of training! It is awesome how many new sisters have come in the last two transfers!
